Smorgie’s is expanding from St. Paul's West Seventh corridor to downtown Minneapolis' Warehouse District.

Smorgie’s will occupy a portion of the street-level and lower-level space at 508 N. First Ave. in the historic Butler North Building, according to The Development Tracker. That’s the former 508 Bar & Restaurant space next to Pizza La Vista and The Loon Cafe, a block away from Target Center.

Smorgie’s is in the process of appllying for a liquor license in its new space, with plans to open later this year.

Smorgie’s focuses on affordable comfort food, including cheese curds, mini corn dogs, walking tacos, and burgers, with most items ranging from $8 to $12.

The restaurant and bar launched in early 2024 at 127 W. Seventh St. across from the Xcel Energy Center.
