Downtown Minneapolis’ outdoor farmers markets are returning for the spring and summer.
Starting this Saturday, the Minneapolis Farmers Market will be open five days a week through October, while the weekly Mill City Farmers Market moves outside through September. Both will mark the occasion with grand openings, featuring new and returning vendors, live music, cooking demonstrations, activities for kids, and other offerings, which will continue throughout the season.
The Minneapolis Farmers Market is open at 312 East Lyndale Ave. N. every Wednesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Parking will be significantly reduced this year due to Green Line extension work around the planned Royalston Avenue/Farmers Market Station.
The Mill City Farmers Market is open along the riverfront between Mill Ruins Park and Gold Medal Park on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

During winter, the Minneapolis Farmers Market is open most Saturdays in its usual location, while the Mill City Farmers Market is open every Saturday in October and first and third Saturday of the month from November through April inside Mill City Museum.
The Minneapolis Farmers used to be open seven days a week during the warmer months, but its frequency was reduced to five days last year.
There was also a farmers market on Nicollet Mall for many years. It’s not expected to return this spring or summer.
